Finding the Best
Car Loan Quote
Before you commit to buying a new or used car, you should
have already shopped around to try and find the best car loan
quote to fit your needs. Auto loans are based heavily on your
credit rating and score. The better your
credit rating of course,
the better the car loan quotes will be. Even if your credit is
slightly tarnished, there are many places to get car loans these
days, so checking around to get multiple quotes before buying
can often help you find much lower rates than you might
originally expect.

Before starting your search for car loan quotes though, it's a
good idea to get a copy of your credit report. If you know in
advance how your credit report looks and what the rating score
is, you can help yourself receive better car loan quotes and
interest rate offers. Having your credit report before hand will
also allow you to know if there are any problems or mistakes
that need to be cleared up too.

If your credit report score is not as high as you'd like it to be,
there are steps you can take to help improve it before
requesting your car loan quotes. Here are a few of those tips:

1. Close any old credit accounts that aren't used anymore. Old,
unused credit accounts can bring down your overall credit
rating score, so closing those out can have an immediate
positive impact.

2. Pay down credit account and credit card balances.
Outstanding credit balances, particularly if they are large or
there are many of them, can bring down your credit scores too.
Paying one or more of these completely off is the best option,
but paying them down helps too.

3. Get corrections made to any errors. If there are mistakes on
your credit report, get them corrected as quickly as possible so
your score will automatically be improved.

Other things you can do to improve the look of your credit report
involve time. You don't want to get car loan quotes if you've
moved in the last six months for instance, and you shouldn't go
looking for car loan quotes if you're straight out of college with
no job. It's also very difficult to get good car loan quotes, if you
can get financing at all, when you're self employed.

Once you know your credit report is in the best standing it can
be, then start shopping around for your car loan quotes. Check
with online lending sources, your local bank, and any local
credit unions too.

You can often get car loan quotes directly from the dealer as
well, and you may want to do this for comparison purposes. Be
aware though, that dealers usually add extra interest points to
their car loan quotes, so this might be the most expensive
financing option for buying your car.

When comparing quotes from multiple sources, you'll want to
make sure you're comparing similar offers. One auto loan
quote might emphasize low monthly payments, but in reality
you'll be paying for a much longer period of time. If low monthly
payments are more important to you than the total amount of
money you'll spend on the car, then by all means pay attention
to the car loan quotes which have the best monthly payments.

If at all possible though, the best course of action is to choose
the
car loan quotes which offer the lowest interest rate and
terms, because this can save you thousand of dollars on the
total cost of your car financing.
